The subsequent article provides an in-depth examination of prisons in Kenya and Uganda, based on information available from Newspaper reports, and the few reports that are available in respect of each country. It explores subjects such as the exploitation of prisoner's labour for personal gain by prison authorities and torture and ill treatment amongst other issues.
