This paper reports on a recent symposium which was organised on strengthening primary prevention of gender-based violence in South Africa from 23 to 25 November 2009. The symposium included presentations by a series of civil society actors from around the world, with a focus on various aspects of gender based violence, and how we can work towards its eradication.
